Our Story
At J.R. Dill Winery, we believe great wine should be approachable and enjoyed in a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. Founded in 2010 by Jeff Dill, our winery is built on hard work, passion, and a commitment to quality winemaking.
As one of the youngest winery owners in the area, Jeff opened J.R. Dill Winery at just 26 years old. With the support of a small, dedicated team and his ever-helpful parents, he has worked tirelessly to make it a special place for customers and guests, known for its consistent quality and approachable wines. Now, with two young boys in tow, the winery remains a true family-run operation.
Sourcing grapes exclusively from South East Seneca farms, we produce around 5,000 cases annually, focusing on award-winning reds, refreshing whites, and crowd favorites like our Cayuga Rise Bubbly. Whether he’s behind the tasting bar, on his forklift, or managing his latest ventures—The J.R. Dill Wine Bar and The Benjamin Hotel in downtown Watkins Glen—Jeff’s passion for wine and community is always on display.
